SHIPPING POLICY

  • Next day shipping on all items except mash tuns and wort chillers, which take 3 days in preparation and shipping.

  • Shipping is through private courier for consumables and Indiapost for equipment, we charge only on the actuals.

RETURN & REFUND POLICY

  • All our equipement and non-consumables are covered under our "no questions asked" refunds policy exluding postage, if returned within a month of receipt in an undamaged condition.    

  • All damaged on arrival equipement are fully refundable including postage, if confirmed within 24 hours of receipt.

LEGAL

Home Brewing beer, mead and wine is legal in most parts of India under certain conditions. We at Alephont trust our customers to adhere to Indian laws about brewing alcoholic substances.

 

General Guidelines:

  • It may be illegal to brew alcohol or alcoholic substances without a specific government issued permit in certain states and union territories of India.

  • Where it's permitted; legal age for brewing alcohol or alcoholic substances varies depending from state to state (ex. above 21 or above 24 years).

  • It is completely legal to brew/ferment non-alcoholic foods all over India by any individual.

  • It is illegal to share or offer (home-brewed or not) alcohol or alcoholic substances with a person under legal drinking age.

  • Distillation of alcohol or alcoholic substances without a government issued license, knowledge and proper equipment  in India is  a punishable offence and also potentially life threatening.

  • It is illegal to sell home brewed alcohol or alcoholic substances or trade them for other goods or favours.

  • It is illegal to travel across state borders with (home brewed or not) alcohol or alcoholic substances.

  • The amount of alcohol or alcoholic substances an individual can produce in a given time frame is also limited by government regulations (in many states you should not exceed 19 liters a month per person). If there are more than one legal age individuals occupying or owning a same premise and brewed amount of alcohol is based on number of these dwellers; consent by the said dweller(s) is necessary.

​It is entirely a customer's responsibility to check with their state's excise department & understand possibilities of home-brewing in the said state.

DISCLAIMER

  1. We do not sell alcohol or alcoholic substances and do not promote illegal production of alcohol or alcoholic substances under any condition.

  2. None of the items we sell contain alcohol. Our products are regularly used in preparing probiotic foods, health drinks, vinegar, soaps, candles, incense and much more, hence, we solely rely on our buyers' discretion to practice their rights staying within legal boundaries. 

  3. We are not responsible if an individual chooses to commit crime using our products since we can not possibly judge a party's intention at the time of sale or monitor a party post sale.

  4. We do not promote commercial production of alcohol or alcoholic substances or distillation of alcohol or alcoholic substances without proper state issued permits and licence.

  5. We do not promote production and/or consumption of alcohol or alcoholic substances by a party who is/are under legal drinking/brewing age.

  6. We do not promote either sell or trade of home brewed alcohol or alcoholic substances for money, goods or favours.

  7. We do not promote production and/or consumption of alcohol or alcoholic substances in a public place or government declared dry territory; whereas "dry" indicates prohibition on consumption and/or production of alcohol and alcoholic substances.

 

If such an instance (mentioned in points - 3, 4, 5, 6, 7) is brought to our attention, we are obliged to report it to concerning government authorities.
