Stainless steel wool can be used for filtering out hop debris and spent yeast when using a siphon. It is also used with kegs for filtering out detritus. Steel wool has other uses in insulation (fermentation vessels, boiling kettle, brite tanks) and for scrubbing and cleaning tough stains, build ups.

To reuse, boil the wool post usage for 3-5 minutes and sanitise with Iodophor. Can also be cleaned with Clear -SBW for better results.
